Febuary Fishing on Lake Anna

Doug Payne with a nice Lake Anna Largemouth
We got out for a couple hours this evening to see if we could catch a few bass. It was pretty slow going, but that's just the way it goes in February. We checked on a couple of areas that are packed full of Threadfin Shad... There are literally acres of shad crammed into some of the creeks and pockets  off of the main lake. Unfortunatley the fish are hard to catch in these areas because of the abundant forage... They just don't have to work very hard for food right now. The water temperature was in the upper 40's in most of the areas that we were fishing. The mild winter is offering some pretty pleasant days on the water. If you are interested in getting out for a couple hours give me a call at 540-287-3591.
